New York… New York!
Last month, I spent three days in New York. It was my first visit to North America… South America was done earlier in 2016! I am not sure if I love New York, but I sure am fascinated by it. Here are a few things that caught my eye:
- Everything is big – big cars, big trucks, big buildings!
- It’s like a slice of the world … there are people for so many countries that it truly is a mixing pot of cultures.
- No matter what your budget, you will find something to eat … right from the pocket-friendly hot dog stands to the fancy Michelin starred restaurants.
- You can find practically any and every cuisine in the city – Indian, Japanese, Israeli, Chinese, Brazilian…the list goes on and on!
- The city cool and swanky as well as dark and shady … you choose where you want to go.
- The city never sleeps. Regardless of the hour of the day, some part of the city will be buzzing with action.
- There is so much glass around Wall Street … gargantuan buildings with glass facades, exactly the way they appear in a Hollywood movie.
- Possibly, shopping is what people to spend time? There are malls all around…and the malls are BIG!
- The weather can be really nasty – a jacket is always good to have. And …let me tell you…the city is windy!
- Billboards and lights … I haven’t seen so many of them in any other city!
