Bolivia: Packing Tips

Are you planning to visit the Salar-e-Uyuni and get some goofy pictures taken? Or do you intend to simply relax by the blue waters of Lake Titicaca on Isla del Sol, which is believed to be the birth place of the Sun by the Incas? If either of these, or both are on your bucketlist, is it evident that you are planning a trip to Bolivia. While the usual stuff will make its way into your backpack, here are few things that you must have while travelling within Bolivia. Make sure you stock up on all this at the local market in any of the Bolivian cities before you commence your soujourn.

Budapest…for the Vegetarian Soul

It is not very easy being a vegetarian in Europe. In Spain, when I say that I am a vegetarian, the waiters assume that I eat tuna and ham. 'Who does not eat tuna and ham?', is an oft asked question in Spain. I wasn’t expecting Budapest to be a vegetarian-friendly city, especially the local cuisine. I knew that I could find pizza places that would help me survive, but I assumed that the local Hungarian food would be meat dominated and I would end up eating pizza slices all the time that are good on the pocket but bad on the stomach.

Day Trips from Madrid

I often get emails from my readers seeking help to plan their Spanish itinerary. Everyone wants to run to the south of Spain and hardly anyone wants to stay in Madrid. Well, if you have the same thought, think again! Madrid and its surroundings have so much to offer that you can spend about a week exploring various sites around Madrid. While I am yet in the discovery phase, here are five-day trips that I would recommend from Madrid:

Rome: Visiting the Colosseum

Last month, I went to New York for an event and had a layover in Rome that lasted 7 hours. It didn't take any effort to decide that I will run from the airport to the Colosseum to tick this item off my bucketlist. And oh...did I run! From the airport to the Colosseum and back... I ran all the way! It was a crazy day and I rushed through things. That being said, I could still spend about 3 hours at the Colosseum and am so happy about it!

Is Paris Overrated?

Spending the New Year's eve in Paris was on my bucketlist for a very long time. So, we finally decided to tick this item off and spend 31st Dec 2017 in Paris. We firmed our opinion after spending about five days in the city...and we think that Paris is possibly the most overrated European city that we have ever visited. Read on to know why...

Zanzibar: Costs and Budget

We spent one week in Zanzibar - we soaked in some sun...I did a couple of dives and Ankur slurped on many cocktails. We also did a lot of fun activities together like visiting running behind butterflies, photographing monkeys and swimming with dolphins. For those who are planning a fun filled vacation to this African gem, with plenty of sun and surf, here is what our expense sheet looked like….

Sergiev Posad: Day Trip from Moscow

When I was chalking out the itinerary for Russia, my intention was to explore the entire Golden Ring, which is a ring of about seven cities located in the North East of Russia. These cities are: Vladimir, Suzdal, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Rostov-Veliky, Pereyaslavl-Zalessky and Sergiev Posad. However, with the little time I had, Sergiev Posad was the only town on the Golden Ring that I finally visited...

Aeroflot: Airline Review

I am back after a fun week in Russia. I flew from Delhi (India) to Moscow (Russia) on an Aeroflot aircraft. Tickets to Moscow were cheaper on Turkish Airlines, but I chose Aeroflot as I was told that getting the visa might be an issue if I am not booked on Russia's national carrier. So, despite reading some terrible reviews about Aeroflot, I still went ahead and booked my flight. Here is my review...

Moscow City Tour

Usually, I like to do a walking tour of any city that I visit. I plan my itinerary such that this tour is the first thing that I do in the city. This acts as an introduction to the city and helps me figure out which attractions I would like to revisit. While I was in Moscow, I decided to hop on to the ‘Moscow City Tour’ and figure out what the city has to offer, besides the Kremlin and the Red Square.
