RKPO Green Resort, Punakha: Review

We went to enchanting Bhutan in February 2017.  Our itinerary took us to three cities - Paro, Thimphu and Punakha. In each of these cities, we stayed in good premium hotels that made our trip even more enjoyable. However, our favourite resort was the RKPO Green Resort in Punakha. The resort is green, literally. The exteriors are painted green and are adorned with typical Bhutanese paintings, giving it the name. Here is our review of the RKPO Green Resort, Punakha.

Day Trips from Prague

I spent a few days in Prague, and fell in love it with the city. Many in my hostel went for day trips to interesting sites, but I stayed put in Prague and spent every evening on the Charles Bridge. Do I regret it? Absolutely not! I loved every minute in Prague. But if you are blessed with itchy feet and like to explore more, here are three day trips recommended by travel bloggers.

5 reasons to visit Kenya in 2019

Kenya is one of the most majestic countries in Africa and a place where a diverse range of climates and topography meet. There are loads of different nations across Africa that should be considered, but I think it is difficult to find anywhere that quite matches Kenya. Part of Africa’s stunning Great Lakes region, it is no surprise that Kenya has seen a 16% growth in tourism in 2018.

Must See in Prague!

I went to Prague and Budapest earlier this year. Prague made me feel that I was walking through a fairy tale town. There was a castle with spires and music all around. Smell of cinnamon and trdelník filled the air. The sky was blue and the I could see white clouds in all possible animal shapes. It’s a pity that I was in this beautiful city, alone. I missed Ankur and thus, I shall soon be back to make sure that the romance in Prague transcends into our life as well.

If either of these, or both are on your bucketlist, is it evident that you are planning a trip to Bolivia. While the usual stuff will make its way into your backpack, here are few things that you must have while travelling within Bolivia. Budapest…for the Vegetarian Soul

It is not very easy being a vegetarian in Europe. In Spain, when I say that I am a vegetarian, the waiters assume that I eat tuna and ham. 'Who does not eat tuna and ham?', is an oft asked question in Spain. I wasn’t expecting Budapest to be a vegetarian-friendly city, especially the local cuisine. I knew that I could find pizza places that would help me survive, but I assumed that the local Hungarian food would be meat dominated and I would end up eating pizza slices all the time that are good on the pocket but bad on the stomach.

Day Trips from Madrid

I often get emails from my readers seeking help to plan their Spanish itinerary. Everyone wants to run to the south of Spain and hardly anyone wants to stay in Madrid. Well, if you have the same thought, think again! Madrid and its surroundings have so much to offer that you can spend about a week exploring various sites around Madrid. While I am yet in the discovery phase, here are five-day trips that I would recommend from Madrid:

Rome: Visiting the Colosseum

Last month, I went to New York for an event and had a layover in Rome that lasted 7 hours. It didn't take any effort to decide that I will run from the airport to the Colosseum to tick this item off my bucketlist. And oh...did I run! From the airport to the Colosseum and back... I ran all the way! It was a crazy day and I rushed through things. That being said, I could still spend about 3 hours at the Colosseum and am so happy about it!

Is Paris Overrated?

Spending the New Year's eve in Paris was on my bucketlist for a very long time. So, we finally decided to tick this item off and spend 31st Dec 2017 in Paris. We firmed our opinion after spending about five days in the city...and we think that Paris is possibly the most overrated European city that we have ever visited. Read on to know why...

Hammam Al Andalus: Cordoba

One full semester of slogging at business school did drain me…mentally and physically. All I needed was some me time! I missed being pampered and with Ankur not being around, I had to come up with a solution to pamper myself. Thus, I decided to spend a couple of hours in Hammam Al Andalus in Cordoba to relax my mind and body on a cold and rainy winter afternoon.

Zanzibar: Costs and Budget

We spent one week in Zanzibar - we soaked in some sun...I did a couple of dives and Ankur slurped on many cocktails. We also did a lot of fun activities together like visiting running behind butterflies, photographing monkeys and swimming with dolphins. For those who are planning a fun filled vacation to this African gem, with plenty of sun and surf, here is what our expense sheet looked like….
