5 reasons to visit Kenya in 2019

Kenya is one of the most majestic countries in Africa and a place where a diverse range of climates and topography meet. There are loads of different nations across Africa that should be considered, but I think it is difficult to find anywhere that quite matches Kenya. Part of Africa’s stunning Great Lakes region, it is no surprise that Kenya has seen a 16% growth in tourism in 2018.

You have most probably considered visiting Kenya in the past, but the important thing to remember is that this is a place to have an experience unlike any other. I love experiencing new things, exploring fresh opportunities, and throwing myself into the magic that Africa has to offer. And that is why I’m going to share with you five of the tops reasons I have for why you need to make sure you visit Kenya next year.

Wildlife

There are plenty of amazing things to see in Kenya, and the wildlife is one of the major appeals here. There are so many incredible places you can go to get the wildlife fix you crave. From the Maasai Mara to Amboseli National Park to Lake Nakuru, animals and wildlife come in abundance in every color and shape here. I would certainly recommend checking out the places I mentioned, as well as Samburu National Reserve and Naivasha as well if you get the chance.

People

One of the things I love the most about Kenya is the people, and, specifically, I mean the Maasai warriors who live in the wilds of Kenya. They are some of the most remarkable people I’ve ever encountered, and I strongly urge you to take a tour guide so you can learn all about the Maasai. These semi-nomadic people are a huge part of the culture of Kenya, and they certainly need to be experienced if you get the opportunity.

Diverse Safaris

While I have already mentioned the wildlife, there is nothing that quite shows off the huge number of species in this country than a safari. We all know about African safaris, and Kenya offers some of the best and most diverse safari experiences on the whole continent. Whether you’re indulging in a game drive across the plains of the Maasai Mara or a river cruise safari along the waters of Lake Naivasha, there is so much beauty on display, and you can enjoy the awesome power of nature up close and personal. I don’t think that you can come to a place like Kenya and not indulge in a wonderful safari.

Come, join the party!

The Great Rift Valley

The Great Rift Valley is one of the most impressive sites in Africa and is actually visible from space. Running for more than 6,000 km, this jaw-dropping valley along the East of Africa, through numerous countries including Kenya, Mozambique, and Ethiopia. What I love about this site is how much historical and cultural importance it brings to Kenya, as well as the wonderful archaeological sites that have been uncovered here. This is reason alone to visit Kenya!

Beach Days

Believe it or not, Kenya is about so much more than just safaris and epic valleys. In fact, there are loads of incredible rustic beaches here to choose from. I think it’s well worth popping over to the city of Mombasa that lies on the coast and checking out a couple of the great beaches there. You should also check out the tropical paradise of Malinda & Watamu. You can thank me later, once you have topped up your tan!

These are just some of the wonderful reasons why I would suggest you travel to visit Kenya in 2019. There is so much this gorgeous nation has to offer you, and the more you can do to experience every aspect of it, the better and more fulfilling it will be. This is one of the best places in the world to visit if you want to scope out some excellent wildlife, so I would highly recommend Kenya. If there are any reasons for visiting that you think I have missed, please let me know in the comments below.
