Places to Visit (India) in 2015: Part 2

Places to Visit (India) in 2015- Part 1 was a blog on what I want to do during the year- a monologue from my perspective. I am assuming that Ankur would like to visit at a couple of places from that list, else I will make a puppy face and convince him to come along. My little list aside, Ankur has a list of places in India that he would like to visit during 2015. Considering...

Places to Visit (India) in 2015: Part 1

Recapping 2014 through the flashback posts, Flashback 2014: Part 1 and Flashback 2014: Part 2, made us realize that we had averaged at least one trip a month, which included three new countries and nine domestic trips. That isn’t too bad for a couple that also has regular jobs, what do you think? We would love to have an even more rocking 2015! We know not what the future holds, but there is no harm...

Learning SCUBA Diving: The Inside Story

Ever since I was a kid, I have spent innumerable hours watching the Discovery Channel. The deep sea series has always been my favourite – watching the whale shark glide effortlessly, marvelling at schools of fish creating a wall that seemed impassable, getting the ‘Awwwww, so cute’ feeling while numerous clown fish played hide and seek… and many more. These were inspiration enough for me to take the effort to enter the deep sea world...

Flashback 2014: Part 2

With six trips done from January to July 2014, the first half of the year had been good. We hoped that life would treat us well and that the second half would be better than the first half. We were surely not disappointed! Here is a snapshot of the six trips that we did from August to December 2014: Croatia: Fun in the Sun… 21 countries so far and Croatia would surely be in the...

Flashback 2014: Part 1

2014 was a travel busy year for us. We managed to do three international vacations and nine short breaks within India, including the annual visit to our folks’ place. We are not sure if we are addicted to travel or is it the joy of ticking an item on the bucketlist that pushes us to save a little extra. All we know is that travelling keeps us happy! It gives us the drive to get...

Top 5 Places to Revisit

It’s a big big big world….and life is short. Somehow, there never seems to be enough time to do justice to a country’s natural blessings, culture and experiences by spending only a week. As we bid good bye to one country, we hope that serendipitous events in life get us back there. Here are five places that we would love to revisit: Kruger National Park, for untamed Nature The honeymoon destination is always special for...

Interview: V-logs and Films

We went for a summer vacation to Croatia in August this year. As we planned our trip, we browsed the net, wow-ed looking at postcard perfect pictures from the country and got a real feel of things by watching a few videos on YouTube. Our favourite videos were those shot by Evan Trout from Burris Film. Here is the link to one of the videos….and there are many more! We wanted to know more about...

Malindo Air: Airline Review

We want to travel ever so often. Our whims and fancies would take us to a new destination every alternate weekend if budget wasn’t a constraint. Hence, every sale on air fare or introduction of a new low cost carrier is a reason of us to celebrate. We don’t care whether the flight takes us to an interesting location in India or lets us add another stamp to our passport – our bags are always...

Travelling Woes

This post is a monologue that I want to dole out. I guess a lot of women would understand what I am saying – due apologies to the gentlemen if this post makes you feel left out! Bitten by wanderlust… My feet itch to travel… I want to see the world! – these are phrases that I often use in my posts. And I agree, that every single one of them applies to me. However,...

Taste Buds’ Memoirs

While we all are excited about our upcoming travel adventure, some of us, including me, are equally excited while scrolling through pictures that make us relive the fun times. For every foodie, no travel tale is ever complete without diving into the culinary world – can’t ignore the taste buds, can we? On a lazy Saturday afternoon, after having spent a couple of hours on a 2000 piece jigsaw, we decided to surf through some...

We all have our travel inspirations – adventure, food, culture, nature, people, architecture, history, religion – to each, his/her own! For Ankur, it’s watching Nature in her splendour – waterfalls, snow clad peaks, blue oceans, stalactites and stalagmites. Formally, my travel inspiration is culture and food. Shhhh… let me share a secret with you… Animation movies are a big travel inspiration for me!!! I could have added exotic locations where Hollywood and Bollywood movies are...

Vegetarians: Eight Survival Tips

Ankur and I are vegetarians. Ankur gave up eating non vegetarian food when he was ten years old while I migrated to the green world when I was four years old. We have maintained our food preferences in the same fashion ever since. We are vegetarians not because religion says so, or family has anything to do with it. We are vegetarians by choice. And oh, we believe that the eggs that are freely available...

Staying fit when on vacation

A month before the vacation is about to commence, I feel an intense pressure to shed a few kilograms. Considering that almost all our vacations take us to a beach on some day or the other, the stress to look good in swimwear intensifies the pressure even further. For me, it is at least 30 days of hard work in the gym, skipping desserts and sticking to salads and soups every night. And then… its...
